What We Are Looking For:
Network for EdWork welcomes proposals for panels and workshops that advance or support liberatory practices in education. Some possible topics include:  

Identity Work & Self-Care (heartwork)

  • Whole child and whole educator
  • Decolonizing the system and the mind
  • Sustaining and cultivating intersecting identities
  • Holistic health practices that sustain educators and leaders as they disrupt systems

Disruption & Dismantling Oppression (headwork)

  • Storytelling as disruption to racism
  • Honoring/acknowledging value and creating space for BIPOC communities
  • Addressing the inadequate and harmful banking model of education
  • Addressing racism and microaggressions within educational institutions

 Liberatory Education & Practices (community)

  • Indigenous ways of knowing and being
  • Teaching for liberation
  • Leading for liberation
  • Mentoring as a tool for liberation
  • Amplifying voices and creating space in the classroom and school community

Presentation Format:
Proposals can be submitted for either a panel, a workshop, or other type of interactive session
(Session are 90-minutes long)

What is a Panel?  
Panel sessions are discussions with several presenters intended to provide attendees with model practices and ideas.  
 
What is a Workshop?  
Workshops are facilitated interactive sessions to learn about, test, and/or co-develop tools, resources, and in-depth practices.
